this photo has ,and the details from the dried up leaves , and it help the leaves become a stronger focal point. The fence also helps strengthen the contrast in this photo, and it also creates leading lines into the leaves. It took me time to take this photo and i am very pleased with who it turned out. It was my best print and i used filter 5 which helped with the contrast even more. This photo made me look at things in a different was. It's weird how something so ordinary can turn out so cool by the way it's photographed; this photo taught me exactly that.Wednesday, May 26, 2010

This is one of my favorite photographs that I have taken this year. What makes this picture interesting is the contrast, the angle of view, and the leading lines. There are many dark darks and light lights in this photograph which makes it must more interesting, clear, and it makes the image stand out more. I shot this photograph while laying on the ground so that I got her figure right in the frame (ants eye view). Also, the leading lines of the frame and on the barn draw your eyes to my friend in the center of the frame. I like this photograph because I feel that it really displays all that I have learned in photography so far. Also because I think it's a really cool idea to do the frame and because this was a roll that I really enjoyed shooting. This photograph represents to me, a memoy of an adventure I went on with my best friend and that makes it even better.Sunday, May 23, 2010

I chose this piece for my favorite photo because I not only like looking at this picture I also really enjoyed shooting it. I believe that enjoying the process is just as important as producing a good image and this whole roll was enjoyable. I went out with my mom and we spent the day going around old littleton to get pictures of Contrasting Environments, however this old looks more intriguing than the new. To me this picture has a story, just think about being positioned for decades, think of all the things you would see like generations of people or cars. I think it would be really interesting and I just wanted to capture the story of this beaten rail road track. Also from an artist point of view it has good contrast and value and as I was saying before good composition!

I decided on choosing this piece because, i felt it was probably my most inspirational pieces i have done. I say this because i used very interesting leading lines that allow your eyes to flow to the main focal point of this picture. I also used a great Rule of thirds view and had my picture in the middle and to the left and right of the image.I believe those are my strongest rules of compostion in this photo.
For my principles of design, i would have to say that my contrast is very unique. It has a more light then dark feel to it, but still simbalizes how the room is sort of erie. I also think that the movement of the water shows how timed and how much patience i had for this shot. It shows that even the most ordinary things can be extraordinary.

I think this is one one of my best photos because of the interesting angle of view - it is to the side of the dice, as opposed to straight on - and the cropping I did - I was able to cut out unneccessary background detail so that it is easier to see the dice as the focal point. Also, there is a lot of contrast between the black and white dice, as well as the dots on the dice themselves. Finally, the use of a short depth of field and the reflection in the mirror makes the photo more interesting.

I believe this is one of my strongest photographs that I have taken in Photo II because it captures many of the rules of composition and principle of design. For instance, I was able to use the cropping technique by cropping out a bulk of my sisters arm to focus in more on the foca point, which is her hand. I also feel I did a great job of capturing interesting leading lines because there are leading lines with the brick wall in the background and the water that is running vertically into my sisters hand. This then leads me to my last point that I did a good job capturing movement. I used a short depth of field aperature and a fast shutter speed to get the perfect spot of water hitting my sisters hand and it falling off.
